The chromium forms a thin film that resists rust, so stainless steel in construction lasts for decades on facades, structures and fittings with almost no maintenance. We supply it as coil, sheet and structural profiles, or fabricate the parts to your drawings.

Where Stainless Steel Is Used in Construction

Stainless steel is commonly used in both architectural and structural applications. Its use ranges from highway bridges in public infrastructure to support structures for canopies and balconies in buildings. It can be found in everything from connectors for wood or stone in buildings to various explosion-proof and impact-resistant structures in industrial settings.

Which Stainless Steel Grade for Your Building?

Most structural applications of stainless steel use austenitic or duplex stainless steel. Pick the grade by the site, not by habit.

Every Batch Comes with Its Mill Test Report

In construction, the question is whether the steel performs as specified. The MTR answers it, batch by batch.
Chemistry and mechanical properties: chromium, nickel, molybdenum, yield and tensile strength, elongation and hardness.
Made to recognised standards: ASTM A240, EN 10088 or JIS G4304, so your engineer can check the values.
Traceable: the heat number on the MTR matches the label on every coil, sheet and bundle.
SGS on request: independent testing when your client or inspector asks for it.

Stainless Steel in Construction: FAQ

Which stainless steel grade is best for construction?

304 suits most urban and rural buildings. Choose 316 or 316L near the sea, around de-icing salts or in industrial air. Duplex 2205 has about twice the design strength of 304, for heavily loaded or exposed structures.

Is stainless steel stronger than carbon steel?

Austenitic grades such as 304 have a design strength of about 220 MPa, lower than common structural carbon steel, but they are tougher and keep their strength better in a fire. Duplex grades reach about 450 MPa, higher than most carbon steels.

Should I use stainless steel or aluminum for construction?

Aluminum is lighter and suits low-load cladding and frames. Stainless steel is about three times stiffer, stronger, more fire resistant and better in coastal air, so it is chosen for structures, fixings and long-life facades.

Is stainless steel worth the higher price?

It needs no painting or galvanizing and little maintenance, so over the life of a building the total cost is often lower than carbon steel, especially on coastal or industrial sites.
