How the Aged Effect Is Made

The process starts with a base surface texture — hairline, mirror, vibration, embossed, or etched — then goes through PVD coating or water plating to build the bronze tone. Oxidation is worked into this stage unevenly on purpose: recesses darken further, raised areas stay lighter, and the surface ends up with the kind of tonal drift bronze picks up naturally rather than a single flat color.

The extent of this process sets the final character. At its core, aged bronze stays rooted in warm brown tones — but depending on how the oxidation is pushed, it can shift toward a near-black charcoal finish, a softer rose-copper undertone, or a more dramatic mottled effect with rust-orange or mossy green-gold patina. The aged bronze effect sits on two categories of base surface — flat mechanical finishes and raised relief textures. Each one interacts with light differently once the coloring is applied.

About the Aged Bronze Process

Stainless steel starts as a grey-silver base. Different combinations of polishing and oxidation coloring produce different depths of bronze tone and surface character on that same base — which means every aged bronze sheet comes out as a one-of-a-kind result.

Our production process:

Start with the customer's specified stainless steel grade (201 / 304 / 316 / 430) as the base
Apply oxidation coloring to build the bronze tone
Create the aged texture using one of two methods:
- 에칭 — builds a raised, tactile pattern beneath the patina for genuine dimensional depth
- Standard process — produces a flat, weathered patina on the surface
Hand-finish the surface to refine the mottled, aged character
Apply a protective clear coat to lock in the finish and slow further oxidation

Is an aged bronze panel made of solid bronze?

No. The base material is stainless steel (201/304/316/430); the bronze appearance comes from an oxidation coloring process and hand-applied aging technique on the surface. This gives you the aged bronze look with the corrosion resistance and durability of stainless steel.

How is an aged bronze panel installed?

Aged bronze sheets can be installed using screw fixing or adhesive bonding, depending on the application.
