A US audio brand sourced color-matched 304 PVD Black Titanium Hairline stainless steel sheets from Sanmei Metal for the back panels of its premium speakers.

프로젝트 개요
A US audio brand needed black stainless steel back panels for a premium speaker line. The brand already had an established supply chain in the US, but needed a black finish that matched its existing reference sample exactly.
The 400 × 500 mm panels are laser cut and bent in the client's own facility, so the sheets also had to arrive ready for fabrication, with a decorative surface that would come through cutting and bending undamaged.

Matching a Black Reference Sample
In premium audio, the back panel is part of the product's identity. "Black" covers a wide range of tones, and a slight shift in undertone or sheen shows immediately when a panel sits next to the rest of the product. The client sent its physical reference sample to Sanmei Metal for matching.
Two steps to an exact match
Start from a standard finish.
Sanmei Metal produces several blacks in-house: PVD Ti-Black, PVD Gun Black, PVD Chrome Black and water-plated black. Compared side by side with the client's sample, our PVD Black Titanium Hairline sheet (S26HL-11) was the closest.
Tune the coating.
Using S26HL-11 as the base, our PVD technicians adjusted the coating time and reactive gas ratio until the color, undertone and sheen matched the reference sample.
Our black hairline finishes
Each finish has a different undertone under strong light. Open any swatch to view details or request a sample.
Premium audio brands rarely start with a large order. A small trial batch to confirm the color and test market response is a normal first step, and reorders follow once the product sells.
That makes color consistency between batches a brand-image issue: every reorder has to match the panels already on the market. Before each shipment, Sanmei Metal checks the sheets with a colorimeter against the client's approved sample, so every sheet in every batch has the color the client signed off.

Ready for Laser Cutting and Bending
The client cuts each 1219 × 1524 mm sheet into 400 × 500 mm panels and bends them in its own facility. Standard protective films can lift, bubble or tear back along the cut line, leaving the coated edge unprotected.
산메이 금속 적용 폴리필름 laser-cutting film, which stays bonded through cutting so the PVD surface remains covered right up to the edge, and the coated surface bends cleanly at the fold lines without cracking.
Laser cutting, bending, deep forming and long storage each call for a different film. Tell us how your panels will be processed and we will recommend a suitable one.
Sending a physical sample is the most reliable way to make sure bulk production matches what you expect. Lighting and screens change how a color looks, so the black a supplier sees and the black a client has in mind are often not the same.
For this project, Sanmei Metal custom-tuned a standard finish to the client’s sample, and supplied a material grade and protective film suited to the client’s own laser cutting and bending. Choosing stainless steel for speaker parts is not difficult. The details are: a thickness that keeps the panel light without losing rigidity, a color that fits the brand’s positioning, and a grade suited to how the product is made and used.
The back panels in this case were made from our PVD Black Titanium Hairline sheet (S26HL-11), color-tuned to the client's reference sample and supplied with laser-cutting film.
