Our standard brass tone is a PVD gold-family color with a cooler, slightly greenish undertone — distinct from a straightforward gold, closer to how champagne gold sits between gold and silver. It also ranges from lighter to deeper across pieces rather than being one fixed shade, giving hammered brass sheet metal a natural, non-uniform look as light catches the raised edges of each strike differently from the shadowed centers.

Sanmei Metal offers this finish on 201, 304, and 316 grades, in sheet and coil, across two tone lines and multiple hammer patterns.

For a more aged, antique character, we also offer a vintage brass line — water-plated (chemically plated) in a brass tone, then oxidized to darken and vary the color before being hammered. The result reads as a naturally weathered, deeper beaten brass than the standard PVD line. Every panel is hammered by hand, one strike at a time — no two sheets come out identical. Depth, spacing, and rhythm shift slightly across each panel, which is what gives this hand-hammered brass finish its character next to a machine-rolled texture.

We offer 12 hammered patterns, grouped by how the hammer strikes the surface:
