One More Thing: Black Residue on the Back of the Sheet

Stainless steel sheets that go through a color-coating process can develop black residue on the back — the uncoated side, opposite the finished face. It's a byproduct of the coating process, not a defect, and it's different from a black stain on stainless steel caused by contamination or poor handling. It doesn't affect the coated side at all.
