Linen Finish Stainless Steel Sheet — Embossed & Etched

Embossed Beaded Linen Stainless Steel Sheets

What Is Linen Finish Stainless Steel?

Linen finish stainless steel carries the soft, woven texture of fabric onto a metal surface — a fine, non-directional pattern that diffuses light the way linen cloth does, instead of reflecting it in a single sharp line like Hairline. We produce it in two processes — embossed (a real textured pattern rolled into the sheet) and etched (a pattern formed into the surface without changing its flatness) — across a range of weave styles and finishes, from natural silver to antique bronze and titanium gold.

Embossed Linen

Embossed linen is formed by pressing a fabric-like pattern into the sheet using matched male and female roll molds, giving the surface real depth you can feel — not just see. Because the texture physically scatters light and breaks up the surface, it's especially effective at hiding fingerprints, smudges, and light scratches, which is why it's a long-standing choice for high-traffic contact surfaces like elevator interiors.

Our standard embossed pattern is beaded / pearl-string linen — a continuous pattern of tight, repeating granular texture rather than crossing woven threads. It's the deepest, most tactile of our linen textures, which is why it's the one we produce as a true rolled relief rather than a surface pattern. Available across five standard tones:

Etched Linen

Etched linen forms the woven pattern into the surface through a chemical or laser process rather than mechanical pressing, keeping the sheet flatter than embossed while still carrying clear visual texture. Because there's no raised relief, etched linen reads more as a fine surface pattern than a tactile one — well suited to large, flat panel applications and to color work, since the etched surface takes PVD color evenly across fine detail.

Not every etched linen texture serves the same purpose. Here's how to choose:

If you want the surface to feel like real woven fabric — irregular, warm, with the natural unevenness of fiber rather than a machine-perfect grid — choose cotton-linen weave. It's the closest etched pattern gets to the actual texture of linen cloth, with matte base as standard.

If you want a tighter, more mechanical weave — regular crossing warp-and-weft lines, denser and more uniform than cotton-linen — choose textile weave. It reads as fabric but with more precision and less "handmade" irregularity.

Optional: Scratch-Resistant Coating

Both embossed and etched linen can be upgraded with an additional wear-resistant coating layer — either a PVD chrome coating or a nano-level protective coating — applied on top of the base texture and color. This is a separate, optional step from the linen pattern itself, the same way our black stainless steel line layers PVD color onto a base finish. Available on either process.

Applications of Linen Finish Stainless Steel Sheets

All linen finish stainless steel sheets are available on two base finishes: a matte, aged vintage base that mutes the surface further for a calmer, less reflective look, or a mirror-polished base that keeps the weave dense and gives a high-gloss, reflective result.

  • Elevator interiors, cabin walls & handrails — the most common use case for linen finish, valued for its fingerprint- and scratch-concealing surface in high-touch, high-traffic spaces.

  • Wall cladding & feature walls — corridors and interior surfaces where a fabric-like texture softens the look of a metal surface; matte vintage is especially suited to hotel lobbies, restaurants, and corridors where the material should recede into the background rather than draw attention to itself.

  • Retail and storefront display panels — mirror-base dense texture's high-gloss, reflective surface suits displays and storefront panels meant to catch the eye as part of a brand or product presentation.

  • Architectural trim & column cladding — durable, low-maintenance alternative to painted or laminate surfaces in public spaces.

Guidance to Choose a Right Size for Your Embossed& Etched Linen Finish Stianless Steel Sheets

  1. Before purchasing, you should estimate the overall weight of the finished decorative sheet and the load-bearing capacity of the application area to avoid overloading.

  2. Since decorative sheets are primarily used for aesthetic purposes, a smaller thickness is sufficient, which not only saves costs but also meets the requirements. Whether for indoor or outdoor use, the ideal thickness range for stainless steel decorative sheets is between 0.5mm and 2.0mm.
  • Sheets thinner than 0.5mm are too fragile and can be easily damaged during handling and manufacturing.
  • Sheets thicker than 2.0mm are difficult to process and challenging to use in practical applications.
