Material philosophy

Color differences: water plating vs PVD titanium black.

Black mirror comes in two coating routes, and they do not produce the same black.
Water-plated black mirror: a chemically plated (wet-process) coloring. It gives the deep, conventional black most buyers picture when they hear "black mirror": richer, more saturated, closer to true black.
PVD titanium black mirror: a vacuum-deposited coating over the same mirror-polished base. The black reads lighter and more translucent, closer to a tinted black over a bright mirror, but the higher reflectivity underneath makes the surface more luminous.

A high-end interior design company from Russia asked us for a decorative convex mirror to stand out as an artistic element in a luxury residential project. To meet both the visual and the durability requirements, we recommended 304 stainless steel with 8K mirror polishing and black PVD coating.

Most suppliers give no color tolerance at all. Every coil of ours is held at ΔE 2 or less.
