What Is Fingerprint Proof Stainless Steel
This material uses a nano-ceramic or polymer clear coating to form a protective barrier on stainless steel. The coating repels oils and moisture, making the surface easy to clean and resistant to daily smudges. Unlike traditional stainless steel, fingerprint proof stainless steel does not require special cleaning agents — a simple wipe with a soft cloth and mild detergent keeps it spotless.

It works perfectly on hairline, No.4 brushed, mirror (8K–12K), etched, bead-blasted, and PVD-colored finishes. Whether you prefer a bright mirror panel or a soft brushed tone, fingerprint proof stainless steel keeps it clean and elegant over time.
For complex or decorative surfaces, the sequence of applying AFP (anti-fingerprint) coating can vary:
Mirror + Etched Plate: Apply the fingerprint proof coating after mirror polishing and before etching. This helps protect the mirror finish during chemical etching and prevents micro-scratches or oxidation.
PVD Colored Hairline: Apply the coating after coloring as the final transparent layer. It seals and protects the PVD tone, making cleaning easier and reducing fingerprint residue.
In both cases, the AFP coating acts as a shield to protect the finish during later handling, installation, or polishing.

- Before purchasing, you should estimate the overall weight of the finished decorative sheet and the load-bearing capacity of the application area to avoid overloading.
- Since decorative sheets are primarily used for aesthetic purposes, a smaller thickness is sufficient, which not only saves costs but also meets the requirements. Whether for indoor or outdoor use, the ideal thickness range for stainless steel decorative sheets is between 0.5mm and 2.0mm.
- Sheets thinner than 0.5mm are too fragile and can be easily damaged during handling and manufacturing.
- Sheets thicker than 2.0mm are difficult to process and challenging to use in practical applications.
