No.1 Finish Stainless Steel Sheet and Coil, Sourced from Top Mills

No.1 is hot rolled, annealed and pickled: a rough, matte, non-reflective surface with excellent durability. It keeps a naturally coarse texture, and is the working finish for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, structural and heavy-duty equipment.

Questions buyers ask before ordering No.1.

What is a No.1 finish?

Hot rolled, annealed and pickled stainless steel, with a rough, matte, non-reflective surface.

Where is No.1 used?

Pressure vessels, heat exchangers, structural parts and heavy-duty equipment, where durability and heat resistance matter more than looks.

How is No.1 different from 2B?

2B is cold rolled for a smooth, uniform surface. No.1 keeps the coarse, hot-rolled texture.

Which grades are available in No.1?

201 (J1–J4), 304 and 430 as regular selections; other grades on request.

What thickness is No.1?

No.1 is a hot-rolled finish, normally supplied from 3.0 to 12.0 mm. For thinner gauges, choose a cold-rolled finish such as 2B.
