Brushed stainless steel sheet covers three related finishes — Hairline, No.4,
and random (vibration) finish — each made by mechanically abrading the surface
in a different pattern. The finish you choose affects how light reflects off
the surface, how visible fingerprints and scratches are, and how the sheet
reads in an architectural or product application.
All finishes are available on 201, 304, 304L, 316, 316L and 430, with Mill
Test Reports supplied on every shipment. Small-batch and sample orders are
welcome — Tell us about your project and we'll recommend the right grade and
finish for your application.

Hairline finish stainless steel sheet is created by mechanically rubbing the surface of the stainless steel sheet to produce straight lines.
Hides fingerprints and light scratching better than mirror or 2B,
classic modern look, lowest cost among directional finishes.
Elevator interiors, wall cladding, kitchen equipment, appliance housings.

No.4 finish is produced by continuous, unidirectional polishing with
progressively finer abrasive belts, giving a smooth, low-reflective
satin surface.
Smoother and brighter than hairline, softer reflection than mirror,
refined satin look.
Sinks, countertops, elevator panels, equipment enclosures.

Random brushed finish is produced by moving a high-speed abrasive
wheel across the surface in varying directions, leaving a
non-uniform, non-directional texture.
Hides handling marks and scratches better than directional finishes,
consistent look even after repeated cleaning.
Elevator floors, kick plates, high-traffic equipment housings.
