304 2B Stainless Steel Sheet and Coil | 304L

304 2B is the all-round stainless steel: a smooth, matte gray surface with a soft satin sheen, good corrosion resistance and easy forming. It is rolled, bent and machined readily. For heavy welding, 304L 2B lowers the carbon to protect welds from intergranular corrosion.

304 or 304L 2B?

Choose 304L for parts with extensive welding: its lower carbon, 0.030% max, reduces carbide formation and intergranular corrosion at the welds.

How hot can 304 2B go?

304 resists oxidation up to about 870 °C in continuous service. Avoid long exposure at 425–860 °C, where carbides can form and reduce corrosion resistance; 304L lowers that risk.

Is 304 2B food grade?

304 is widely used for food processing equipment, cooking utensils and work surfaces.
