316L PVD Bronze No.4 Stainless Steel Sheets for a Canadian Building Facade

Canadian winters bring heavy use of road de-icing salt. Chloride-laden spray, meltwater and wind-blown dust settle on building facades, especially on lower floors and on elevations facing busy roads. Chlorides are the main cause of pitting corrosion on stainless steel, and on an architectural facade the first sign is usually brown surface staining, long before any structural problem.

All processing was then completed in Sanmei Metal's own facility: the coil was cut to length and leveled, brushed to a uniform texture, PVD vacuum coated in bronze, given an anti-fingerprint treatment, and covered with laser-cutting film before packing. PVD is a dry vacuum process, not electroplating, which keeps the bronze tone consistent across the whole batch.

The contractor was working to a tight installation schedule. Yongjin is one of China's leading cold-rolled stainless steel producers, and its 316L coil was available from stock in the required width, so processing started immediately instead of waiting for a mill production slot. The chemistry of the batch was checked against ASTM A240 before production.
