316 2B Stainless Steel Sheet and Coil | 316L

316 2B is an austenitic chromium-nickel-molybdenum stainless steel with a smooth, matte cold-rolled surface. Molybdenum gives it strong resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion from chlorides, for marine, high-salinity and chemical environments and strict hygiene standards. 316L lowers the carbon for welded parts.

Choose 316L for welded parts: carbon at 0.030% max limits carbide precipitation and keeps intergranular corrosion resistance.

316 or 304 2B?

316 adds 2–3% molybdenum for much better resistance to chlorides and salt. Choose 304 for general use, 316 for marine, chemical and pharmaceutical service.
